Taping (elastic bandage) is a technique that uses special elastic adhesive tapes applied to the skin in specific ways. The goal is not to “block” a body area, but to support movement, improve comfort and provide a sensory input that can help manage load during daily or sports activities.
It is important to consider it for what it is: a support tool, not a standalone solution. For this reason, when appropriate, we integrate it within a more complete pathway that includes assessment, therapeutic exercise, movement education and personalized progressions.
When it can be useful
• Support during movement: to assist specific gestures and improve awareness of the treated area.
• Load management: to increase tolerance and comfort during a gradual return phase.
• Sports activity: as an additional support in training or competition, when appropriate.
• Integration into treatment: as a complement to exercise and manual therapy, when aligned with the goals.
How I work
• Initial assessment: we define goals and test which movements/activities should feel more “tolerable.”
• Personalized application: technique choice based on skin, area, direction and the required tension level.
• Practical instructions: duration, management in case of sweating/showering and signs for safe removal.
• Progression: taping does not replace the pathway; we use it to facilitate active work and reduce dependence on support.
Who it is for
• Those who want elastic support to move with more confidence during a return phase.
• Those who play sports and want help managing loads while keeping natural movement.
• Those following a rehabilitation pathway who need a temporary support integrated with exercises and progressions.
